Welcome to our Star Trek Club

Star Trek Club

Are you interested in joining a Star Trek Fan Club? We are the USS Jurassic, and are a Correspondence Star Trek Club, and an official  Chapter of Starfleet. We meet by email, mail phone and online chat. Members get together online, offline at various events, and at Star Trek Conventions.

This is a Star Trek Club that is for the busy individual or family that just doesn't have time to join a local Star Trek Star Ship (Chapter), or there isn't one around you.

The Starfleet Officers Radio School is run by two of our members. We welcome Ham Radio Operators, as well as anyone. We also do Star Trek Fan Fiction/Star Trek Roleplay, and various projects to help the community and the Military. Everyone is welcome! You don't have to be interested in Radio, just Star Trek! Half of our members are not into Radio. Come Join the Crew of the USS Jurassic!

Cost to belong to Starfleet is $15 annually for an individual, and cost of our club dues are $5 annually.

Requirements: Must join Starfleet. Open Internationally to all.  SEND FOR INFORMATION

StarTrekFanClub Starfleet Academy Officers Radio School
Here you'll learn all about radio communications. You'll study about the history of radio from Marconi to subspace communications. It's all here.

These courses are for your enjoyment as well as providing some fundamental education on different types of radios, their history, basics of radio theory and to help introduce the popular hobby of Amateur Radio.

Many SF members are on the Ham Radio bands and we would love to have you join us. But it is not necessary that students be licensed Amateur Radio operators to take and enjoy these courses.

Amateur (Ham) Radio Studies
Description: This course of study includes questions from the Federal Communications Commission's Volunteer Examination Program's Question Pool, and like the other courses they also include a set of questions dealing with the STAR TREK universe. This is a test comprised of questions from the No-Code Technician Amateur Radio license.

These courses are PRACTICE for the real exams and are intended to stimulate interest in the fascinating world of Amateur Radio. Starfleet International and Starfleet Academy will NOT be issuing Official Licensing Exams, this activity is handled in your local area by Certified Volunteer Examiners. Many of our Starfleet Members are Ham Radio operators and we would love for you to join us on the airwaves. The 2000 FCC rule changes make it fairly easy to get your Amateur Radio License. Starfleet members that currently hold an Amateur Radio license are welcome to complete any of the exams for Doctoral Credit after completing the Bachelors and Masters exams.

Trekkies Source Materials Needed
The SORS strongly recommends that you research the questions in the World Book Encyclopedia. Trek trivia can be found within the TOS, TNG, DS9, and VOY series episodes, plus all of the movies. You are permitted to use any source material needed to find the answers, however you are not permitted to consult anyone for the answers, nor are you permitted to use the answer sheets from a former or current student. You are on your honor as a Starfleet Officer.

Reference Materials for these exams may be found in any library or purchased from the American Radio Relay League (www.arrl.org). Multiple Doctorates can be earned in this program for the completion of all three (3) license class exams. [NOTE: Members who currently hold a valid Amateur Radio License may send a copy of the license to the school director and receive credit for the FCC tests they have already passed. But will still need to take any they have not passed. Please do not send the copy of your license until you are ready to work on the Doctoral course.]
